To prove its efficiency, we teamed up with seasoned tradies, Scott and Monique from Barry’s Metalworks, and compared two reduced shank drill bits: a standard market model and our new Onsite+ Step Tip Reduced Shank Drill Bit.
“My wife, Monique, is the drill press operator, and she will sing from the hilltops if you can reduce her time spent drilling,” Scott said.
The standard reduced shank drill bit took 1 minute and 20 seconds to drill one hole. Multiply that across all 600 holes, and you’re looking at an average of 13 hours and 20 minutes. Time that doesn’t take into account for user fatigue, drill wear, or burnout, which would further increase the drill period.
With our Onsite+ Step Tip Reduced Shank Drill Bit, one hole took 30 seconds—a 50-second time difference. That brings the job down to an average of 5 hours for all 600 holes, cutting it to just over half a day of work!
