- K0 Structural HSFG Bolt & Nut and Washer are a preassembled heavy duty high tensile bolt / nut / washer combo used in the building and construction industries to fasten steel to steel and steel building frameworks. We only stock the new premium range of K0 AS1252:2016 structural bolts / nuts and washers with K0 Quality Assurance documentation available online.
- Identification of a K0 Structural Assembly: The head of the bolt will have the following: 3 straight lines at approx 2pm, 6pm and 10pm, 8.8 indicating the strength as class 8.8 high tensile, manufacturers mark like HEC (Hobson Engineering Company) and an Unique Trace Code. The structural nut is a deeper nut than a standard nut and the washer has 3 dimples (nibs) on the outside which identifies the washer as a structural washer
- Material / Coating: Galvanised coating is a dull greyish colour, has a slight wax and can also be a little rough in appearance. Used mainly outdoors because of its superior corrosion resistance and proven longevity. Also known as HDG, it is one of the best coatings for protection against rust. Galvanised fasteners have been used across many industries in Australia for over 150 years, roofing, steel buildings, trailers, bridges, fencing, power poles and marina construction
- Thread Pitch (Metric): Pitch means the distance between the peaks of two threads along a screw, bolt, or fastener expressed in millimetres (mm). Used when referring to Metric parts. For example, a thread pitch of 1.50mm means that the distance between one thread and the next is 1.50mm. Always buy nuts with the same thread pitch to ensure compability
- Fastener Length: Is measured from the point where the surface of the material will be when the fastener is installed to the end of the fastener. Thus, fasteners with heads that sit above the surface are measured from under the head to the end of the fastener
